		<description>Perhaps there is a good reason for preserving Korea&#039;s rice production capabilities, especially since now Australia&#039;s rice crop has failed and there are now increasing projections of food shortages in the world.  There is also articles like this from the NY Times that makes one think:

As a consumer, I usually buy the more expensive Korean products instead of Chinese or American simply because I believe it is important to support the local industry and to not allow it to go the way of so many other industries that were driven out of business by foreign competition because once the local production has gone, then there is a monopoly and now it seems a food monopoly can lead to political instability.</description>
