I’m glad some smartass brought up the fact Carefour employs and sells Chinese and Chinese products anyway. Those Chinese products doesn’t have to be sold at Carefour, it could be just as well sold in the supermarket next to Carefour and it wouldn’t make a difference.
Western companies build on the concept of BRAND, like Nike, branding is only a concept, a logo, not the actual supermarket. The power of the brand is lost when people no longer think of it as positive, and that’s where the real vulnerabilities is.
I have to say I’m not surprised at the amount of westerner reciting propaganda here: seperating China with Chinese goverment? I’m sorry but rioting against Tibet and Olympics aren’t very helpful in making that point, neither of which is a issue of the Chinese government and every bit an issue of Chinese civilization.
Why do you think there are people in Hong Kong and Taiwan, both of which aren’t traditionally pro-communist also joining in with the rest of China?
And let’s not even get into history here, if you can still think Tibet was ever independent living in today information age, you are obviously brainwashed beyond hope.
My advice to those foreigners who don’t live and work in China – don’t comment based on what others reported. Try to come and stay in China for a while to find out the truth! Its easy for you to be living a luxurious life far away, to shout for independence on behalf of Tibet. Do you know what may happen to the people of Tibet in return for their independence? could be gross Poverty and starvation! Independence must be for a better tomorrow and not more poverty!
>>>A foreigner who has work and stay in China for >10 yrs.
I am wondering that those westerners who claim that china had grabbed Tibet since 1950′s. Can not they even find a map or geography book before that in any museums or libraries? Are those related books or maps of china in your textbooks all published after that?
Chinese shoud disregard French’s opinion unless French Free Cossica. All french enterprises get out of china. The cake is limited, we don’t want french have a share.
I am not trying to defend for my goverment. And I really hate being named by someone as “sheep” or “brainwashed poor guys”.

The problem with China and Russia is the same with poor getting rich too fast. A rise of boors that can`t keep up with the fast change. A boycot of french products shows the inferiority they can`t handle, like children who don`t wanna play with others because they feel offended. What Europeans experienced and grew up with over centuries has now to be managed by chinese in a couple of years. To take care of international affairs, especially if countries are suppresing and murdering has a long tradition in europe. We watch each others and interfer if someone misbehaves. That worked fine over the last years (Germany, Kosovo and some over sea interference). For me the olympics are already over by now. But the protests of sportsmen after they won the medals will be great to watch especially with some funny little security guys jumping around a bunch of 2 meter rowers. So I will enjoy summer in good old europe. having a winery tour through the elsace and bordeau, nipping a drink at the costal of Portugal and watch the olympic summary with all the protests with a smile and a beer at a beach clubs in Hamburg. And by the way, to boycot other countries goods is the most stupid thing the second biggest export country in the world can do. Keep up by doing so and you are boycotted yourselfes and we see you on the rice fields again. For me thats fine, although i prefer thai cuisine, it is much more sophisticated. But i will enjoy your rice. Maik from Germany
寒那~~~~地球人民噶不友好,还是回火星吧!
I am so scared……. every earthman looks not friendly, you are libel each other, why?? so terrible, it’s better go back to Mars I think.
To Maiki,
You can enjoy all the beer you want in the dead europe. The glory days of europe was over a long time ago and all you guy can do is either following the US like a dog or be sour about emerging countries like China. How depressing!
I am from Macau, China. I have read and watched the news on BBC and some other channels. It seems most western medias have been focusing how deeply the tibetans feel grieved on the Chinese government, from the young to the old. I wanna ask if these youngsters have never been back to China but just been told and educated by their exiled parents, is it really believable? One more thing, some pictures were taken and happened in India but not in Lahsa, however, it has been giving audience the image of happenning in Lahsa, and it always pointed at China of suppressing and misdoing, is it fair or not?
Personally, I don’t fully support the Chinese government and I agree there are many errors with it and should be sort out. But on the issue of soveignty, I strongly discard those independance-seeking tibetans. It is truly disturbing in the flame relay tour. Dalai Lama should stop the activities happening before seeking a dialogue with the Chinese authority. The timing is not right of using these protests as pressure on Beijing. As for an ordinary person, it is not right for having some celebrating events like wedding or birthday party but someone protest outside your home and the church. Would you be happy? Couldn’t these been dealt with later?
And please the medias should really play a role of justice rather than as prejudging some group is right and the other is wrong. No boycot on French products, most french people are innocent. on the same way, most Chinese know what is happenning, not controlled by anyone or government. WE SHOULD TREAT EACH OTHER THE SAME.
