Most people in NATO/white nations don’t understand that the more open China becomes, the less love they have for the west due to the fact that a real picture is not that great! This includes its political system, legal system, propaganda media as well as many naive, ignorant yet arrogant people in these countries. When China was closed, people had much better impression of the west. They now see a real west with deep-rooted racism, corruption, hypocricy, arrogance, stupility, etc. I once met a 78 old American woman. On the surface, she is kind, goes to her local cathlic church every Sunday, has master degree in literature, has upper-middle class table manner, likes to feel good by considering herself a world saver, does not know any foreign language but always has strong opinions about things and events happened in other countries, watch “news” everyday and 100% believe anything reported by CNN or BBC, and of course loves to talk about freedom, democracy and human rights. After I’d known her for over 10 years, I consider her cold-hearted and lack true human passion; a person who is hypocratic and deeply racially/culturally biased. I had a lot of examples. For instance, when the Iraqi war started, I said to her that it was too bad because many ordinary people would lose their lifes. You know what she said to me: “Sometimes war can help our economy.” in a very casual tone! When she saw on the TV that thousands of Iraqi families tried to escape the capital city and many families took as much as they could and put all their properties in a small car to leave before bombs droped, this old “civilized lady” said to me: “Did you see the traffic jam? It’s so funny that these people are escaping in their cars! Haha!!” She was laughing when she said this! Did she ever think about putting all her belongs in a small car and had to leave her own house, city, or even her own country? Did she ever think about the fear and desperation these ordinary Iraqis must feel and the unkown future they had to face? This old American woman even did not want to leave her own house and move into a nursing home! When I was listening to her comments, I felt so chilly! What kind of human being who could have such a cold heart? Does she have the moral credibility or authority to preach human rights to others? Think about how many such average Joes and Danas in u.s.!! When more Chinese get to know a real west and real westerners, what can you expect from them? The whole feel-good west moral aupuriority is just laughable and disgusting!

I had a look at Wikipedia. This legislation seems to be regulating access to information or records held by government bodies, e.g. government meetings, etc. My understanding is that this legislature is not connected with censorship (which you seem to indicate it is) – but I may be mistaken. Can you clarify?

It also seems, again according to Wikipedia, that while both PRC and USA have freedom of legislation information, this does not mean that the legislation itself is exactly the same, i imagine that we all have different laws. I cannot seem to find the PRC version online (again, maybe you can help?) to compare with the USA version.

Perhaps others can also help clarify this

xfiles, just read about the details of Abu Graib treatment of suspected insurgents…specifically the abuse, torture, sodomy and homicide of prisoners. The higher-ups don’t know what is going on? Lower level officers were scrapegoats to shield and cover up the criminal behaviour of those much higher up according to demoted (from Brigadier General) Colonel Janis Karspinski. And in My Lai Massacre in Vietnam, Colonel Medina escaped punishment. Lieutenant William Kelly got only a short sentence of a few years for ordering and participating in slaughtering of non-combatants – men, women, children forced marched into ravine, even crying babies tossed there and shot like rats shooting. And they hanged Saddam Hussien for allegedly committing “crime against humanity” There is neither vertical justice within their own military justice nor horizontal justice across other cultures and if you don’t sit on the same side of their hypocritical ideology, you must be evil.

You will find that Malaysian and its neighbour Singapore does NOT have such specific law governing information access but still more generous of open access. Both countries DO NOT have laws to restrict information access – truer democracies.

The North Vietnamese gunboats fought back in self-defence. By all these falshhoods, US escalated the war in Vietnam, brought in more than half-a-million ground troops plus the weight of its Navy and Air Force to destrpy Vietnam unsuccessfully.

DANIEL ELLSBERG WAS CONVICTED OF VIOLATING US GOVERNMENT SECRETS AND SPENT A LONG TIME IN JAIL FOR EXPOSING THE TRUTH. He is now famous for his “Daniel Ellsberg” papers.

That is enough proof of how Western media is never free of bias because THEIR GOVERNMENT IS SECRETIVE AND DISTORT INFORMATION AND HIDE THEM FROM PUBLIC ACCESS AND KNOWLEDGE OF TRUTH much worse than Chinese Government do. At least, Chinese Government do not mislead its own Party Congress, do not mislead its people and do not mislead the world and cause big war killing millions of foreigners. According to China Daily more than 70% of all Chinese youngsters studying in the west stay there for ever. Women are more likely to stay away from China. Only a very few of those Chinese was demonstrating. There were many, many more Asian people dressed in the Tibetan flag everywhere. Maybe you was not allowed to see it.

The most of the Chinese people living in the west has better things to do. They have their studies or maybe they already have a fine job; they earn money and make themselves a carrier. I know they are wondering a lot about why those angry Chinese people is not more concerned about rising food-prices and other costs of living. When those Chinese visit their former homeland, they are near to go into shock because of the pollution everywhere. For my own part I am very angry about the Chinese income-policy. I don’t understand, why a lot of poor Chinese did has to live three generations together for only 3-400 yuan pr mount while other Chinese are able to gamble millions of yuan away in Macau. Where is the national solidarity between rich and poor and between East- and West-China?

Instead they are helping the westerners; they are interpreting from and to Chinese. They also work as advisers for journalists, different NGO-groups and different political parties in the west about special conditions in China.

While reading many of those self-satisfied comments here on this blog, I begin to understand why so many young, clever and beautiful Chinese women prefer a western husband instead of a Chinese and why they want to stay abroad, despite that China already are in lack of young women.

I am sorry to say that, millions of young Chinese men will never get a bride. Their parents will never get a grandchild. That’s for me an absolute concerning problem. If you want to hear, there is a little France word telling about the ability to behave, to please and to cause positive feelings from other. They call it “charm”. Try it! I ensure you. It works! China will be better place to live when you also use it. Insted of being so spoiled and solo-childish.

I’m sure you are a great person. As a loyal citizen you are defending your government. It is as it has to be. Unfortunately your beloved government is hiding great cruelties made by them selves (read CCP). That’s makes the bad reputation China have had and still have all over the world. It also made the sepulchral atmosphere and expectations around the official part of China and Chinese authorities everywhere where people know what they have done.

The Chinese government can’t fight against the information forever by reduction you and the rest of the Chinese people to a state of stupidity forever. Someday not long ago from now the cruelties will come to the light and you’ll understand.

If the Chinese government, as they try to say, have changed them self to the better (I dearly hope so), then they have to confess what they have done and tell the world how sorry they are because the suffering they had made mostly against their own people.

Today the Chinese propaganda-machinery wants you to distrust, what comes from western media because they know all westerners know about their cruelties. The government are so scared what happen when western media and all the westerners coming to the Olympics how things are. Maybe they made it possible for you to open your eyes.

That’s why they make their new doctrine: “Be not so CNN”. In too many years, you have being too CCTV. You have being too Xinhoanet too. If we keep silence, the theft of truth by CNN, BBC, De Spiegel, the Australian, even some Japanese media will corrupt unthinking minds and world opinion on a very good emerging nation – China. For too long, all the troubles in the world in recent history – Vietnam (over 4 mllion dead), Iraq (over a million dead), Rwanda (over 800,000 Tutsi dead) are all the evil creations of western politicians backed up by a corrupt immoral press in the guise of freedom of speech hell bent on not to objectively inform public opiion but the corruptly influence and deceive them.
China, as you point out correctly, is the nation who had not occupy foreign land – look at recent history, they fought India and withdrew, they fought the former North Vietnam, they withdrew, they fought the Americans in Korea, they withdrew. They fight for a principle, not territory. They fight to preserve their sovereignty, not oil (unlike the West who entered Iraq under the hypocritical pretense of saving Iraqis from Saddam Hussient and Human Rights rubbish). As for Tibet, the British invaded Tibet in 1903, so they cannot cannot open their hypocritical mouth that they want to “Free Tibet”. The British invaded Afganhistan and failed too early in the last century, so they forfeit the hypocrisy of wanting a free Afghanistan. George Bush Snr armed the Talebans to fight the Russian and his son, George Bush Jnr, now instigate the whole of Nato to fight his father’s “former friends” It is all RUBBISH which CNN, BBC, and Western Media don’t want to remember and don’t want us to know by objective reporting. And it is also the same rubbish which Japanese media don’t want to remember Nanjing and “comfort women” slavery of women to proclaim Free Tibet and still shout human rights deficiency by their Prime Minister. The world is too full of hypocrisy in Western politics. Time for the rest of the world to wake up and speak up. Rising asia will shift the balance of world’s political and social order.The Western Governments, dislike as they are obvious to all now, cannot change the tide. Thanks to you Mustapha. You seem to understand, knowing China than I do. Most who opposed China or rather to say the CCCP system, they have no ideas at all about the system works and should say who are the people are using it. Eastern nation and the west absolutely not the same. They will only know to think we are like them, when after dominated power than occupy others lands. China had never done that in the history, to days and will not do it in the future. (Perhaps some will bring Tibet issue to answer this sentence).

Mustapha, you are right! This is what CCCP all about to bond the entire Chinese nation together, unify the country.

I remember, how the Asian or rather say most Chinese went to west and have to tolerate the discrimination from the western. On the other hand, I don’t see westerner being discriminate by the Chinese in China, or should also say in other Asian country. Of cause we don’t mix the issues of the taliban and the extremists. But that again, who actually created them? The west.

I have to stop giving my voices now; I am tired to repeat the issue again and again. But my heart is with you CHINA.

People treat me good, I will tread them better. Others don’t offend me I will not do the same in return.
