Thank you very much for your encouraging comment, L.F.J.Herron. Indeed, there's a lot to be seen beneath the media smokescreen. And most of all, love, kindness and freedom deserve a chance.

If you think this article helps, please show it to people you think will make good use of it. That's why I wrote it. To start a very important conversation about Latin America and the U.S. international policies.

Best,
D.D.

Thankyou for this article it has again opened my eyes to see beneath the smokescren of U.S intervention in Latin America echoing its own history of murder and oppression of anything not W.A.S.P.
The complete desolation of the North American Indian habitat and way of life in exchange for mono culture and capitalism is being repeated in every part of the world where an alternative dares exist.Indeed love and kindness deserves a chance.

Daniel:

I appreciate the even-handed nature of your article about the blogosphere’s reaction to the latest problem concerning Ecuador-Colombia-Venezuela.

I would like to weigh in a bit on trying to determine what to believe/what not to believe about the Ecu-Col-Ven issue. It is very confusing and tough to discern the truth amid all the current media outlets/websites, etc. That is why, it is essential to study the history and politics of different regions of the world, especially for young people.

If one studies Latin America in depth, you find that the US’ long history of political interference is lengthy and brutal. You will find that the US had a proxy army to fight most of the battles in Latin America so that brother is pitted against brother in murderous civil wars. If you study the history, you will know prominent Americans such as Nelson Rockefeller made a huge fortune by stealing Latin America’s resources especially and from indigenous people. You will find that religious missionaries from the US aided and abetted the theft of land from the Indians and helped to kill them when they refused to leave.

When you read the history, you will find that the Latin American leaders that the US supported didn’t do a damn thing for the people. You will find that those few leaders who refused to be a puppet for the US were assassinated or thrown out in a coup.

When you know the things I have just stated to be fundamentally true, then there won’t be any question about what’s going on the next time a US puppet like Colombia commits a grossly aggressive act such as the attack on the FARC in Ecuador. You’ll know that part of the reason for the attack on the FARC was to kill negotiator Raul Reyes to halt any possibility of a negotiated settlement of the hostage question. But, more importantly, you will know to wait a week and watch for the real reason to emerge: the US is using the “evidence” from the seized FARC computers to tie Chavez financially to the FARC, so that it can put Venezuela on their list of terrorist states along with Cuba, Iran, etc. In this way, the US can start applying all manner of trade and other economic sanctions against Venezuela and try to cripple them altogether. The history always reveals the pattern that repeats itself, decade after decade.

I run a blog called Haiti, Cuba, Venezuela Analysis at: http://hcvanalysis.wordpress.com
and invite you to stop by.

Thanks again for your article.
