Religious sanction is a very minor matter compared to social constrictions. That too in educated, urban cities (like Mumbai) where any pontiff hardly ever dictates daily life. It is people-young, eductated, urban- in society who use such strictures if any to perpetuate their narrow minded and selfish behaviour.
