I think Obama is the only one in the current presidential race who has the power to bring the change we all have been waiting for. But would the establishment allow a person like him to walk into the White House and make changes that are unacceptable to the establishment? I think its going to be very difficult for Obama to fight against the insiders and Capitol Hill residents for decades and as a new commer he is already facing that fierce opposition from his opponents in both Democratic and Republican party. This race will get very nasty!

Step off the Obama cloud for a minute and check out two excellent, non-mainstream articles about Obama’s candidacy.

Annoying hoopla in media today about how US presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and John MCain are "comeback kids." Excuse please: exactly where did honorable candidates come back from? ...

Thanks for linking to this on Twitter. A friend on St. Thomas met Obama when he was there a few months ago and said he was impressed by him. I don't mean impressed by his celebrity, but impressed that he seemed to be in person what what we think we see on television (I'm paraphrasing). I've supported him since the day he announced and was hoping he'd run months before that. I believe he's willing to listen (and after 8 years of Bush who apparently doesn't listen to anyone except Rove, Cheney and his own thinking, that will be very important to me). I think he's very smart. I think he will help repair the U.S. reputation on the world stage, so greatly damaged by Bush's policies. I believe he'll get us out of the war in Iraq. I believe he'll offer the option of affordable health care coverage to the uninsured. (I'm personally not for a mandate, which is, I believe, what Clinton proposes.) I think he cares about global warming and I know he cares about Darfur (which matters greatly to me). When I look at Hillary, I see the past. When I look at Barack, I feel hopeful about the future...for the first time since 1968. He makes many of us feel hopeful that an Obama presidency might be one step in healing our very racist past.
