Unfortunately,Mr Francis Wade is totally correct, that returnees to Jamaica do need the ability and the intestinal fortitude--guts-- to accept shocking, ghastly, odious, and revolting news, such as the three men killed by a mob/vigilantes after attempting to steal a goat. But how many Jamaicans with the interest of returning home will be able to psychologically, sociologically, and legally deal with such shocking and horrendous news. The consequences of such shocking news--criminal and violent behaviour--is that it alienates and prevents Jamaicans in the diaspora who/that are interested in returning home from doing so.And,by the same token most Jamaicans residing on the island are paralyzed, petrified, and horror stricken with fear, and are interested in immigrating to more peaceful societies, which indeed is understandable.Because of the ubiquitous nature of such revolting and unspeakable terror unleashed by gangsters,thugs,dons,druggists,goons,gunmen,mis-directed youths and the common criminal. It is extremely tragic, appalling, and wretched that mob/vigilante justice is being utilized/employed in lieu of the rule of law and Jamaican jurisprudence in various quarters of Jamaican society to settle criminal, illicit, and extra-legal forms of activities.Interestingly, what such behavior exposes and lay bare,is the ostensible failure, deterioration, decay, and bankruptcy of law enforcement and the judicial systems. Each day,the news with respect to the astronomical high incidences of crime and violence in Jamaica becomes more abhorrent, distressing, frightful, and horrifying. The implacable and intractable nature of violence in its sundry forms, definitely delineates a breakdown and collapse of the relevant and essential institutions that/which are generally considered the bulwark against such criminal and violent intrusions, namely:family, school, communities, churches, legal, law enforcement, judicial, business,et al,juxtaposed with the dereliction and crisis of leadership at various levels of the society.Jamaicans at home and abroad should not have to possess the ability or intestinal fortitude to accept shocking news. Jamaicans are clamoring for a society where they do not have to wonder who is next. RESPECT!!
