I am planning to spend a year in Dominica. Can anyone please tell me what rental accomodation are like? What’s the cost of a two or three room apartment, what the apartments are like (i.e., toilet, shower, cooking, )? What about crime? And how much is food and houshold expences for a month?
Any info will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Sam
I have two accommodations, but there are a wide variety on the island. Cost of living is higher than most Caribbean islands from what surveys have shown, but there are alot of positives which are outside the shopping baskets. There are long term rentals compared to what I offer, so if I am aware of your budget then I can respond with accurate or detailed accommodations.
Take care,
Pepper.
Hello Pepper,
I’d like to know if US$350-400 per month is enough for a 2-3 room apartment (or house) with normal plumbing, indoor toilet, shower, gas cooking, internet connection.
How much should I budget for food if I buy local produce only and cook for myself? I heard that electrity is expensive. How much could it be? How could Dominica be one of the most expensive in the Carribean if it is so poor?
I need a decent place for a year. Is the capital a save and clean place to be? Any suggestions?
Look forward to any and all responces.
Thank you,
Sam
