Just as an example Australia has a population of 20 million similar to Sri Lanka.Australia's GDP is nearly 10 times bigger than that of Sri Lanka.I can hear people shouting that Australian Land mass is many times bigger.Not quite because the amount of irrigable land is only 3 times bigger than Sri Lanka.If we lived in peace ,people like Maha Sivanathan who is the 10th Richest person in Queensland would be contributing to Sri Lanka ,not Australia. I left sri lanka in disgust after the 83 riots where many of our country men killed invain.I think it is time that we denounce violance from both sides.My last trip to jaffna was in 1977 to play a game of cricket with the jaffna Hindu college , How wonderful was that, still in my memory. I mean he looks like he's 15 yrs old and should go to school instead of playing with tri-nitro-toluene. Nah, I forgot...kids in asia/south-east-asia aren't supposed to be brought up like that. I mean look at us, we don't have any violent secretarian struggle in Bangladesh, yet our streets are filled with homeless kids,all within 12~15 yrs age-range, making a living out of selling industrial waste.
