I'm American not Russian, but it sometimes goes the other way folks:

Agence France Presse, Jan 5, 2007

A Cameroonian poet and journalist exiled in Poland was arrested and charged with deliberately infecting several women with the HIV/AIDS virus, prosecutors said.

Simon Mol, 33, is suspected of having infected at least four women who have come forward, and the investigation is continuing, said the Warsaw prosecutor’s office.

Mol is known in Poland because his poems have been translated into Polish, as well as for his campaigns for human rights and in favour of refugees.

His formal name is Simon Moleke Njie.

Four women who claim they had sex with Mol and have HIV/AIDS recently reported him to the police, who have also questioned the alleged victims’ doctors.

Mol, who has been a refugee in Poland since 1999, risks up to 10 years in prison, said the prosecutor’s office.

If you want to live some happy life among a darker-skinned majority, move to South Africa. And some paradise you'll find it to be! ;)

I was shocked to watch the video of the young man victimizing the girl and I have been a witness to outrageous racism in the United States. It seems that the racism that exists Russian and Eastern Europe may be more vicious than what I have seen here, although I might be wrong. I'm a member of the majority group, so I might not have access to some of the more terrible acts of racism that go on in my town.

I wonder what's going on, deeply, and on a cultural level, that would lead to such a disgusting act as this. It looks like the government needs to take some responsibility and address xenophobia through educational programs, or public advertisements, or something else that will engage the minds of the citizens and open them up the the possibility of value in all humanity, even those less powerful or of a different color.

I'm also curious to know who the attacker was talking to on his cell phone and was this part of his motivation for the violence.

Finally, I noticed that the fellow traveler clearly looked scared to me. He seemed to be trying to remain invisible; hoping that he would not be this man's second victim on the train.
