Several sources seem to confirm that youtube has been blocked in China. Ken Wong noticed that the blocking happened soon (one day) after youtube launched its traditional Chinese version (zh).
Transpacifica has also confirmed the blocking of youtube.
Xujun Eberlein from Inside-out China blogs about a 18-year-old man Sun Zhongjie's act of chopping off his little finger off to protest against the Shanghai Traffic Management Bureau's “hook” on “black taxi driver”.
Roland Soong talks about the inward-looking character of both Hong Kong and Mainland bloggers and discusses the thesis on whether or not cross-border dialogue is possible.

Yes, i can confirm that it is blocked in most parts of china since i am in china. Furthermore most websites are being redirected to Baidu.com (a chinese search engine)….
This could be because of the present government meeting being held in china, the dalai lama being presented with a medal by the US and other factors as well…
I can’t believe that Youtube is blocked.
Wikipedia is blocked too, it was probably blocked long ago but I just had internet in Shanghai and it sucks SO bad.
I’m in China and yes youtube is blocked. I’m absolutely infuriated at this, because I have a background in the music industry and youtube was the only way I could keep up to date with current videos. I can’t possibly express how angry I am at how pathetically condescending and insulting this is. I’ll be leaving China at the earliest possible opportunity.

It’s out in BeiJing
Lame.
It,s blocked in Zhangzhou (Fujian province) China
youtube is blocked, pornsites still work though…

A lot of Chinese may not understand the second clip. I recommend downloading the English subtitle file and using a tool like babelfish to translate it to Chinese.
Please China, remove censorship of youtube so that Chinese society can move into the age of scientific era and throw away our superstituous beliefs.
Mao was right about religion and its time the truth gets out. Unblock youtube! We do not have to be afraid of the truth because we are the Truth!
