I do not think that kreol is inferior in mauritius, it is the people of mauritius who are inferior to using one asset that they can call theirs and which is unique to them. i find some mauritians still trying to be french, when we all know that our only ties with the french was memories of the colonial days. we need to move on, be ourself and be original. we should not be ashamed of what we are but of what we could be.

This whole debate is a joke. Kreol is widely spoken in all walks of life. Today, Other issues need to be tackled, namely poverty and most importantly, the shift of mentality from "permanent assistance" to "effective empowerment. The day, so-called intellectuals will understand that, a major battle will have been won!

What is the point of Kreol if it cannot be used for day to day activities like in the work place or in other formal places and some people are even ashamed of the language.
