I think he has a very valid point. I live in Kuwait myself and have noticed more than often the Philipino gays walking (not only working) around hand in hand as couples wearing all the female atire. I have seen Kuwaities too but never an Arab! now maybe I was unlucky but we are talking about what is forming a "tren" or a social change that everyone can notice. I cant see but Philipino gays, never seen Indians, Lebanese, or Egptians. Why his point is valid. We are not talking whether these people are sick and so they need treatment and sympath instead of attacking them. If they are sick, we sypathize as long as they are trying to deal with the "diseasë" not abusing a whole culture (which is Islamic and not sypathetic with one showing off their sins so how about visitors who come to work, and we all know what Kuwait is like, it is for the Kuwaities and no matter how many years you live in it, u are still a visitor. I am not kuwaiti by the way) I believe aside from ur calls to sypathize and pray for them, some serious action must be done "against" this move. For many reason really; First, I wouldnt want my son to see a gay couple eating next to us in a restaurant and act like it is normal. he will be confused and if he doesnt have the "disease" he might have it. Secondly, normal people feel disgusted about gays and lesbains sometimes and it is very normal and has nothing to do with being bias or not. we know what is normal and what is not. all sins are disgusting for normal people and not for cirminals. why we send cirminals to jail u think? why there is punishment? because they destory society..at least till now no procesure send a gay or a lesbain to jail for having "showed off " about it! Third, these are visitors even if they are doing a job not done by kuwaities because kuwities are hypocrites as the implication might be by Frankom, yet it is the Kuwaitis country and the few incidents they reveal their homosexuality isnt forming a phenomenon like the Philipino is. and, there is not where else to send the kuwaities to, but why bring more of these especially that they are breaking a rule of Islam and eastern code of behavior. finally and most important, the topic isnt whether u sypathize with gays or not!

Dishevelled,
Thank you for your comment.

1. "No offense, but I noticed almost all of your “articles” are posts bloggers already posted about. Also, why post something someone already posted!?"

I clearly say that I have translated this article from a blog. Also, ALL the articles published in Global Voices Online 'echo' what the blogs are talking about. That is the whole point of the site.

2. "And you seem to pick the ones that gives a negative view of the country. I mean, sure there’s the bad, but there’s the good as well."

I am sorry you feel this way...but if you have any suggestions for 'good' posts, please send them my way.

Thanks again for your comments.
