According to a group of Columbia University law professors, “errors made by judges, juries and prosecutors have resulted in the reversal of 70% of the capital punishment cases between 1973 and 1995. Among these, sixty-nine individuals, who were convicted and sentenced to death, were later determined to be not guilty and released from death row” (Liebman et al. 2002). It worries me that we may possibly be executing the innocent.
