Propaganda like this is never a good idea. Many times my own dear George Bush and his right wing republican cronies have tried this and failed.

Here are couple examples (link in sig):

- Paid Bloggers Stoke Senate Battle in Va.

- The two leading South Dakota blogs – websites full of informal analysis, opinions and links – were authored by paid advisers to Thune’s campaign. (aka “Jeff Gannon”)

Relevant response to item (1) here, which speculates on the reason there’s “no need to go around asking” about, and which reproduces a rude Bullog deletion notice.

It’s kind of interesting to compare that with Sina’s latest iteration of gentle, overly-apologetic deletion notices. They both accomplish the same thing, but Sina’s sound fake while Bullog’s attitude seems to be “You know the restrictions we’re all operating under, so f**k you for putting this server in a sensitive situation.”
