Why are African intellectuals so depressing?, wonders Kenyan blogger Kaasa: “Hello! Today on my way back to the hotel, I saw the current Oct-Dec 2009 BBC Focus on Africa magazine at a newsstand and read Mukoma wa Ngugi’s article “We Are Sailing”. My goodness. i realy want to know what will be the reaction of the sierra leoneans when the result will be published. For me i hope and pray that there will be a peaceful atmosphere.
I am happy that so far there hasn’t been any report of violence and fighting in my beloved country. My question will be to the people trying to be president of Sierra Leone. What really have they done for that country? when the country is dirty, no job, no electricity, no better educatiuon and poor health. Please brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, cousins etc make sure you cast your vote for someone that will develop the country not someone that will steal all our resources and run to another country. It is time for them to change their attitudes. Please politicians think twice and put the country first before your selfish needs.
Why do people keep anticipating violence. I am sure that the days of violence elections are over in Sierra leone. Have we not learnt a lesson from the 10 years of civil war in the country. Whoever wins, we have overcomed the issue of violence and we will embrace each other and work for the development of the country.
I will like to congratulate all patriotic sierra Leoneans for the peaceful election, may god richly bless you and grant us peaceful run-off. Please let us choose the right man, it time for us to know what is good or what is fake. we have time to thing wisely and vote for the wise individual, we want better leaders.Lunter!!!!
I would like to thank’s the people in Sierra Leone for the peaceful election, and i pray for peace on the day the result will announnce, may God choose the right person.
