By all means, have your memorial where persons could reminisce and consider their purpose in life.

Place it: 1. in front of the new library complex, 2. at the end of converging nature trails where families can congregate, 3. on a scenic hillside facing Africa… Contribute to the existing tapestry.

What is this nonsense regarding existing monuments having "no real ties to us"? Where do you end with your throwing out? Who is this "us" of which you speak?

Argument? You sit down there and mutter about my bread and butter.

You must be one of those who only sees the side on which his bread has always been buttered. I am not here for an argument.

We should set up a memorial in Kingstown. I am sure there are many in the diaspora who will contribute towards it. Not only will it be a fitting way of remembering our ancestors who suffered, but like the Chatoyer Memorial, it will help to keep the spirit of rememberance of those long departed, in the hearts of future generations.

Not forgetting we have a War Memorial and a Peace Memorial. These we could throw out. They have no real ties to us.
