The extraction of sand from the rivers, estuaries and coast of Cambodia is an environmental, economic and social disaster. As proved in Indonesia. It is the equivelent of selling the floor boards of your house, or the topsoil off your farm.

Singapore shows great disregard for the majority of Cambodians, the only beneficiaries are the tiny power elite who would sell their country for a new Lexus.

It’s true that Vietnam is trying to stop exporting its own sand; but in our process of exporting Cambodia sand, Vietnam is only a country of transit, and our company has permit to do that. It is perfectly legal for us to sell/export Cambodia sand to your Companies.

What right has Vietnam to stop Cambodia to export sand to Singapore? Vietnam being a part of Asean should help its neighbour but not to stop others from helping.

Not too long ago, I thought I read an article stating that Vietnam will import sand from Cambodia to support its construction industry.

Does it afraid that the price will increase because of competition?
