I am amazed so few people knew the site was going to experience a scheduled down time period of three days while it was being updated. This was well publicised in advance, and the good news is they finished updating to comply with OFT wishes much earlier than expected. The bad news is the site is swamped because of the “free seats” offer, and is not working correctly 24 hours later !

Why Ryanair does not explain all these problems to their clients…? Myself as an investor i was trying to get to Ryair website no way i phoned Uk to try they confirmed the same thing…NO COMMENT. If I may add, governments have little or no influence over multinationals. The theory that the government influences any ISP anywhere in the world to censor websites is absolutely deranged. The more than accurate hypothesis is that for some equation to work out ‘ok’, the website must be inaccessible to x people during y seconds. It is the same with any such problem. Think call centers, money transfer delays, etc. It is basically similar to what magicians do: diverting attention. Everything in this world is basically an attention black hole, draining people’s atetntion, patience, and mental resources in order to make sure that a very simple action is impossible, unthinkable, and therefore inexistant. You have to actually look at things indirectly to understand what I’m saying. The reasons change, because the reasons are, just like beliefs, there for a very specific purpose. Logic itself is not a static concept as such. There are always variables introduced, suppressed, or refuted, and thus to think that an ISP blocks a website is wrong. Nobody blocks a website, not even the people who do it. It is an ‘organisational’ pattern that serves a certain group of people ’somewhere’, and the point is that everything that is happening in this world today is keeping those people away from harm’s way, in a very, very intelligent manner. Euh, I suppose I have derailed from the main subject far enough so I leave things here. And hope no offence is taken. At least, I hope no offence is taken by people who don’t diserve it.

OpenDNS is blocked by Maroc Telecom. There are different ways to bypass censorship, but that is not the point.

Configure your computer to use OpenDNS’ DNS servers and then you’ll have access to Ryanair’s website. Instructions are at http://www.opendns.com/start .

Access to Ryanair’s websites has been restored late yesterday (june 5th) by Maroc Telecom.

My ISP (In Ireland) tells me that they have heard on the grapevine that Ryanair are migrating servers at present, and it appears that something has gone very badly wrong with the process, and DNS records are being changed regularly, and DNS resolutions are failing as a result, so attempts to contact their site are failing.

There’s no indication how long this will continue, but it’s bad at the moment.

It would not make any sense for the Moroccan government to allow Maroc Telecom to block any Ryan Air websites,as Morocco has just signed an agreement with Ryan Air to expand Ryan Air’s operations into Morocco by setting up a hub at Marrakech,so there is little logic in this rumour.
The more tourists that Ryan brings to Morocco the better it is for the Moroccan economy and their Tourist industry. Also don’t forget that Royal Air Maroc has its own very successful low cost carrier called “Atlas Blue”.

The Moroccan government’s agreement and acceptance to an “open skies” policy is a fundamental factor in the success of Morocco’s booming Tourist industry.

Five years ago Morocco had 2 million tourists a year, today it has 8 million, and it is their intention to have 10 million by 2010.

The last thing that they would wish is hinder Ryan or any other airline in bringing in valuable tourists ready to spend money in their Tourist sector!

Let’s have a reality check on this……..!!!????

I’ve been unable to access Ryanair.com in Spain for 3 days but a friend has managed twice to reach the home page very early in the morning.

This will add extra cost to check and go paassengers who have to pay about 20 euros for boarding cards if they can’t print them from the ryanair website.

Hi. I’ve tried for three days now to reach ryanair.com from Stockholm in Sweden without any success. They must lose a lot of money over this issue.
