That was six months ago. Since then, I have tried to learn about about conflict zones, Darfur, and other areas as much as possible. Now I want to know what I can can do to help.
Many of these blogs and "Save Darfur" organizations ignore Western countries' roles in fueling the violence in Darfur and many other regions of Africa. If all those contributing to the violence are not addressed, the suffering will continue.

Here are two good articles about Darfur, with information you won't find in the maisntream media.

One is by F. William Engdahl at
http://www.engdahl.oilgeopolitics.net/Geopolitics___Eurasia/Oil_in_Africa/oil_in_africa.html

the other is by Keith Harmon Snow at
http://allthingspass.com/journalism.php?jid=165

Just thought it wise to inform you of the current Blogville Idol going on right now. It started out small but became huge when NBC and BBC showed interest by writing the producers. Snapvine, a major software company in voice commenting is also deeply involved.

All these goes to show that bloggers have started leaving a mark in the sands of time.

You can check it out here

Muchas Gracias!

Msome. Iliitwa, Sudan: Blogging From the Conflict Zone. Isome uone jinsi gani blogu zinavyotuwezesha kushiriki kwenye harakati na utetezi kwa njia mpya. [...]

A group of aid workers have started pooling their blogs over at Aid Workers Network. The general focus is more on humanitarian practice and trying to share tips. Still, worth a look though.

Ndesanjo Macha,

You have summed it up. Blogging becomes a powerful means of conveying & sharing vital info.
I call upon all to keep on doing whatever in her/his power to help alleviate the suffering of the civilian population in Darfur.
