>>Chinese bloggers in China are not aware of China’s role in the Darfur war.

Chinese bloggers discuss very little on Darfur war. They are not well informed about this.

>>some recent western threats to boycott the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijin if China does not “clean up its act” in Africa ?

Do you mean Royal's claim threatening to boycott Beijing Olympic? Her speech aroused lots of anger from Chinese bloggers as you may guess. Many Chinese are happy with the latest French election's result, because Royal lost.

Interesting. Should we conclude from this round up that Chinese bloggers in China are not aware of China's role in the Darfur war and of some recent western threats to boycott the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijin if China does not "clean up its act" in Africa ?

There is no excuse for terrorism such as what happened in Ethiopia. However the Chinese government has to start looking beyond its huge appetite for world resources. Unfortunately most of these resources that the US, EU and China is after is found in conflict prone zones that atrocities are committed everyday by the ruling governments. This is true with Ethiopia where the government is known for nitrous human right abuses. You can not quench your trust of oil peasfully simply by disregarding the rights of the local people. This is like saying my problem is more important than yours.God be with the families of our Chinese brothers who lost their lives.

China responds: Not protesting, reprimanding, but bullets!...

GlobalVoices has got a great round-up of Chinese bloggers' reactions to the killing of nine of their nationals by the ONLF in Ethiopia's Somali region. (See ">Reuters' story on the attack.) Mostly it is a mixture of grief, anger and......
