As a person who has served time for sexual harrassment and rape, I feel that this - like all sex crimes - are the fault of women. I mean, if they didn't leave the house and be near sex offenders then there would be far fewer sex crimes. Women should be banned from leaving the kitchen without chastity belts and full length clothing. This would mean they would not be tempting men. Why should men have to control their urges when this is clearly unnatural?
Oh, but this would ruin pop culture and most civilised culture. Perhaps to cure our insatiable 'Madonna-whore' complex women should be packaged at birth into different categories then sold on the basis of looks to the highest bidder.
Although I deeply envy Akon for being able to do that to a woman and get cheered - that's how i tend to get arrested *lol* - if someone tried to do that to my mother/sister/daughter I would definitly attempt to murder the offender. But of course that would be different, as the women Akon and I do it to are not mothers, sisters, or daughters they are just hoes. And hoes aren't born like other people, they only come out at night and were brought by stalks. Everybody knows that right?

I've tried to be consistent and non hypocritical, but essentially my argument is that it's the girls fault for trying to be cool rather then Akon's fault for being a sexual predator. My reasoning for this is that she is a girl and thus a ho, and he is a man (and famous) and thus should not have to moderate his behaviour to remain in the bounds of the law or social decency. (With the exception of that being against women who fall in the 'Madonna' side of the dichotomy)

The response to this incident is quite amazing. Many of the responses that argue Akon is innocent seem very similar to 1950's justifications of rape.
It seems that many responders hold a belief that Akon has no responsibility to control his actions. Why is it 'ok' for Akon to have done what he did because she was wearing a skimpy outfit or that she had gained entry to a club underage? Whilst it is true that a woman putting herself in the wrong place at the wrong time can lead to bad situations, such a defence for sexual assault is ludicrous. Comparable to a mugger arguing that their victim walked down a dark alley, or a burgular claiming the house owner chose not to install a security alarm.
As a celebrity, Akon is in a position of power. Someone with his fame can easily have influence over people. How can a 14 year old - young and immature - be blamed for the actions of of a celebrity who is aged between 25 and 35 (though keeps his exact age secret)?
That peer pressue, the power of celebrity and a huge crowd of people coerce a girl into this position speaks less about her character, but far more about those who are prepared to exploit that power to take advantage of others; in this case a young girl.

I would like to say that black women in particular and women in general do get objectified too much though.Which is why I am not one to assume that every women that gets beaten, raped, objectified deserved it or had it coming although I do not believe all women that report rape are always innocent no more than the perpetrators . With that said, I do not agree with the comment that women ask for rape by dressing provocatively. That is like saying a man's car should have gotten jacked because he left the car door unlocked in the parking lot .

I think Akon should be called out on what he did. he should be criticized. He was wrong and he objectified the girl. But she was too young to be there even though the whole incident would have been better off not happening. I do not know the girl to judge her personality. I am not trying to. But that night she was acting grown. She did not deserve what she got but it would have behooved her to use better judgment just like Akon! Both should take this as a learning lesson.

Well listen i agree .. if you are 18 and over you expect more than just a dance or two at a club with a famous person attending it ..You should blame the 14 year old who decided she wanted to be older then what she was.. When i waas 14 i was in bed the time the clubs opened... there were no tattoos . or dressing like a straight ho,... I would have had my ass handed to me .. Im not saying it right that akon does sexualy excplicit things on stage with girls but sex sells and hes a millionare ... Her father should have known where she was especially if hes a man of god.. Wow ... its so funny how parents blame everyone else for there own stupidity ... parents kids all over are doing what this girl did time to pay more attention....

I really don't understand all the hatred thrown at Akon, why does the parents have the blame and why denigrate the Caribbean culture...! HOW ON EARTH IS THAT! the child is 15 years old she has nuff sense specially becuase of her father being a religious man..!PEOPLE THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT GOES ON IN NIGHT CLUBS...!DEAL WITH IT...!people of all race and culture goes to these places and they all behave the same way, in fact do you really think that any of them remembers Morality, THAT IS NOT CHURCH...! Many young people nowadays does many things that their parents do not know of and this child looks like she has being doing this far a good wile, tell me what jury is going to condemn Akon after seeing these photos..? and as for him, all the heat that he is receiving right now he deserves, i like his music but i hope with this he learns that being an artist does not mean that he has a legal license to behave out of control and without reasoning have it been a woman of legal age or not makes no difference.
Nobody wants to pay money to go see something that does not reflect any artistic talent....IT'S TIME ALL OF THESE SO CALL ARTIST LIVE UP TO THEIR NAMES.......!

first of all, that girl should not have even been there, so i blame her parents. If her father was so concerned and everything, why did he not find out where she was going? or did he allow her to go to a night club being underage? she is playing this victim role because of how things turned out but we all know that is BS. i believe the trini saying is, "take front before front take you." how can u blame akon people? some of you act like you have never danced with another person....maybe not to that extreme, but think about it,the way ppl dance now, it is only a matter of time before that is what will be called dancing. Akon is a performer so he will perform. now he saw a young goodlooking girl wearing a very sexual outfit and he brought her on the stage to enhance the performance, now is that any way for a 15 year old girl to be dressed? that is really not the main focus, but still come on. so Akon pulled her on stage, did his "dance" and then he gets in trouble. He is to blame, because even tho it was dancing/wining up/whatever ud like to call it, it was inapropriate. THE REAL CRIMINAL IN THIS WHOLE THING IS MS. DANAH, AND HER PARENTS.

Akon is a performer so he will perform. now he saw a young goodlooking girl wearing a very sexual outfit and he brought her on the stage to enhance the performance, now is that any way for a 15 year old girl to be dressed? that is really not the main focus, but still come on. so Akon pulled her on stage, did his “dance” and then he gets in trouble. He is to blame, because even tho it was dancing/wining up/whatever ud like to call it, it was inapropriate. THE REAL CRIMINAL IN THIS WHOLE THING IS MS. DANAH, AND HER PARENTS.

i am an adult and the way this young lady behavved i was very appalled. just to know that her family wants to blame everyone else for her behaaviour is wrong. i live in trinidad and at that age a normal child who has a concienc would not have placed herself in the spotlight like that. in my opinion, she doesn't care about her family nor herself and now she's trying her best for everyone to feel sorry for her. get a life DANAH
