We both saw it and said, "What the heck was that?" Shortly after, about a mile down the road, a police car went towards that direction with it's lights on. Then, when I pulled in the driveway, I looked up to the sky, and I saw a shooting star. What a crazy night. And today is Friday the 13th! I think we may contact our local meteorologist and see what we can find out. It was the beginning of 2008, so around the time as these sightings. It looked just like a firework but it moved in the opposite direction. I was driving and saw it fall from the highest visible point through my windshield all the way down into the treeline. It moved quickly, but I saw it long enough to steadily watch it's trail. It was at a distance but large enough to make me think it had to fall somewhere! What's strange is my boyfriend wasn't even with me, but he watched the same thing from our home. I checked the news the following days and saw nothing about it. If we both saw it surely others had to see it. It was almost two years ago but I still wonder about it. It seems that people are saying these are meteors, but other say meteors appear as white lights. Whatever it was, it still has me wondering. I saw this same thing in Florida, USA. My friend, sitting beside me, saw nothing but he was looking in a completely different direction. I must say it did startle me....it was SO DIFFERENT. We were told we had probably seen a shooting star or meteor and not to worry. About an hour later we noticed a small ,fast moving boat heading towards the area where the light would have landed if we had seen it land.This boat came from the west of us and if any of you know this area well ,you would know that there is a large American Airbase just down the coast at Newguay.We followed this boat with our eyes until it dissapeared from view.We thought this strange but carried on fishing through the rest of the night. At first light we noticed the sound of helicopter rotors blades chopping through the air and looked to our west again , and we saw it was heading in the same direction the boat was going - out to sea where we thought the lights may have landed.it stopped and hovered above the ocean roughly 10 miles north of us (above the sea).It was then that we noticed a small boat in the area aswell.After hovering for aprox 5 minutes it then headed straight for our position and hovered over us for near a minute before moving of behind the cliffline.This chopper was all black and I would say it was a two seater.We also noticed that it had one of those dome (eyes ) fitted to it that takes all sorts of lenses,camera equipment etc. We soon forgot this incident and I've only just remembered again as I was out fishing again Saturday night (19th Sept 2009) and seen another green light fall from the night sky.This time I was on the South Devon (UK) coast and watched it fall from a westerly direction.It burnt for a few seconds and was then gone - dissapearing behind some trees on the high cliffline.this one would have gone down inland somewhere.Unfortunately, my buddy with me never noticed it. I find it a bit odd that so many from different parts of the world have seen something similar...but no explanation for it?
