The world believes the Americans mad for letting the lunatics run the asylum. If Franz Kafka sprinkled a few Administration quotes into this mix, he would have a best seller.
Neurotic Wife on a shopping spree stands for many Americans. Mad for a Merry Christmas, she manages to ignore the 650,000 Iraqi dead.

[...] My time in China was blissfully free of reality. I hardly heard a word about the war in Iraq, and if I did it was in Chinese and I couldn’t understand it. I think to some extent I purposefully walled myself off from the war - I had internet access after all. Only recently have I started to listen to news channels again. Only recently have I paused on Iraq stories. Only recently did I find a world of blogs that shared Iraqi viewpoints. (Iraqis on Global Voices) [...]

Yes, this is horrible and how can you feel good about being even a human being when you see that, even now, we didn't even learn anything.

I have been fortunate enough to be born in a country where I could see and hear about the problems but just from the outside. But still, it is very easy to relate and imagine how it is to live in constant fear and where life can be gone so fast.

I know that people are afraid and that everybody is fighting for their life and that life is difficult for everyone nowadays. But, wars are always in the interest of some. There is always some interest behind those apparently "Good intentions" don't they think that we are stupid!!!

The only thing that they are interested about it NOT people interest but their own. The only thing that they are after is MONEY or POWER.

And what if at long last we would let the Politicians of this world fight their own battles, what if, everybody would REFUSE to go to war. WHAT THEN???

Why do we believe THEM when they instill hate in us and when they manipulate us into thinking that the OTHERS are the ENEMIES!!!! We know who the enemies are!!! and it is not very difficult to find out.

Well, I am just a woman and I hate wars, I don't think that you can resolve anything by killing anybody but I believe that by trying and understanding each other you could try and make a BETTER WORLD.

Well, I guess nobody wants that..

One is only speachless about all the casualties.
It seems to me that the Neurotic Wife is rather a humoristic view of the situation. In this area of the globe we live and have learned to assume contradictions.
