The war took a long time but they did not lose much troops which is a blessing and a victory. Yes innocent civilians were hurt but that was Hezbollas cowardly & pathetic choice. It was not possible for Israel to remove all the illigal weapons Hezbolla possesed anyways. Eventually Nato forces would be forced to dissarm Hezbolla. If Israel decides to wages war to confisgate the illigal weapons from, these people who hide in holes they have dug for the past six years, it would be devestating for Israeli soldiers and a victory for Hezbolla. Since Hezbolla will hand over their weapons to participate and be a ligitament part of the Lebanese power, it is a victory for Israel. Maybe next time terrorist decide to kill and kidnap, they will think twice if their pocket takes a deep hit. I wish Lebanon's PM will take control and govern her people. No government can be both a democratically elected and a terrorist at the same time. Hezbolla is a traitor and has commited a treason who works for anther nation because of religious ties with Iran. The complacency by the Bush administration to intercede and diplomatically resolve the hostilities only goes to illustrate how naive we are to the potential global disaster by the consuming violence. Regardless of whose side you may take, the entire planet is at risk. After World War II, Albert Einstein, the father of atomic energy said, “the unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking and thus we drift towards unparalleled catastrophe.” Although for now, armies on both sides are using conventional warfare, we know the Israelis have nuclear weapons. We also know that Iran, supporters of the Hezbollah, is on the verge of deploying some form of nuclear technology. If an adversary is backed into a corner, understanding they are to die anyway, then they will take whatever action is necessary to punish the aggressor even if that means killing everyone in the process. The detonation of just one medium-size nuclear device would kill tens of thousands of people; knock out all forms of telecommunications for hundreds of miles and place the entire planet into uncontrollable panic and fear. Are we willing to risk the entire world just to avenge our hatred? I hope not. The violence needs to stop immediately. We as earthlings, not Americans, Israelis or Lebanese, must band together and say, “We will not support war in any form.” We must risk our freedom and life to stop the killing and possible destruction of the entire human race.
