Nassau Bahamas Vacation reports that a group of lecturers at the College of Bahamas were refused permission by the Plays and Films Control Board to screen the film “Brokeback Mountain” in the context of a public lecture on the topic “Church, State and Human Rights: The Politics of Censorship”. “Brokeback Mountain” was banned by the Board earlier this year. The lecture, which was scheduled for today, is still likely to take place, though one lecturer remarked that “we will not have the benefit of putting our study in its proper context. . . .”
