An American view: I thought I'd share some of my views of the entire Iraq war as an American. In my oppinion, nearly all of the media is biased. All the stories conveniently leave out facts or slant the story to sway readers oppinions for political gain. It is hard to hear all the truths from within Iraq.
In my view, the American Military is not "occupying", they are trying very hard to get the Iraqi Government to a self sustaining point where the military can be pulled out. We don't want our military there but, we want them to finish the job in a timely and professional manner. It's your country and the purpose of the American Military is to make it safe for you, the people of Iraq to make your own decisions, vote and run your own country freely, without threats, fear or reprisals.
If our military personnel commit crimes, they should be punished per the law and they will be. No ifs, ands or buts!
From my view here in the USA and what I see in the news, the Iraqi people that are for their new government are not trying very hard to help get rid of the terrorist criminals who try to disrupt their government. There is very little outrage voiced at the insurgency's actions but when the Americans make a mistake(nobody is perfect), everyone raises a commotion. I realize that establishing a new government is a very complex and time consuming process but hey, pitch in and be part of the solution and don't sit back idley just watching and waiting.
I'm very happy to see the likes of Sadam, Usey, Quday and Zarqawi destroyed. I am saddened to see innocent Iraqi people killed. In closing, I wish the Iraqi people and their country all the best for the future and a successful government. We do want our troops brought home quickly. Take care.
