While surfing the web the other day I discovered a not-for-profit project from New York which uses Haitian art to fund a school in Haiti. I'm talking about the Vassar Haiti Project. It auctions paintings by all sorts of Haitian artists and the funds are used for the construction and functioning of a school in Chermaitre, a town 6 to 7 hours northwest of Port-au-Prince. The project accomplishes three goals: encourage haitian artists to produce art for sale, exhibit the beauty in the country, help those in need in the country.

You could try the Haitian Art websites such as Medalia Art or Haitianpaintings.com among others
i have a friend that does art work and he opened a store in montreal but no one comes home. maybe you can by his paintings and sell the paintings again to a fundraising thing. i would like to help him

I might be interested. I have several pieces some of which I purchased more recently from the Haitian Art Co. and some I purchased many years ago from Marian Stevens, who had the Artists Unlimited Gallery, both of which are at Key West. The early pieces are framed in the hand-carved Haitian wood frames. I love them all.
I am local, living at Harrisburg and frequently in Philadelphia. I would love to see your piece.
