Rebecca,

That was an interesting experience. Not nearly as much name-caling as I expected. There did seem to be considerable whining and excuses about how tough it is to be a journalist in Iraq. LTC Boylan was the most impressive guy on the panel, IMHO. He didn't really want to address my question, though. Can't say as I blame him.

A component of Information Operations is Psychological Operations, which is defined by the Department of Defense as planned operations to convey selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives and objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of foreign governments, organizations, groups and individuals. The purpose of psychological operations is to induce or reinforce foreign attitudes and behavior favorable to the originator's objectives. Also called PSYOP.

Now who does this for domestic target audiences, for what originator?
