It requires one person to start something revolutionary and Fouad Al Farhan did it! People in Saudi Arabia can now reach out to more people internally and externally through their blogs.. I always meeet smart people in Saudi Arabia, sadly the main stream media only show the dark side of Saudi. However, through personal blogs, people in Saudi can really inform us about what is going on!

This was written in 2006, And I just read it.. It's really interesting..
I'm sure more events (and writings, maybe even by other authors in different spots around the web and on ground) happened after this one on both ends, yours and Fouad's, I knew bad things happened, and we can see that in the comments section where this comment is.

Regardless of all that, I really admire the way this interview was done and reported. And the informative effect over my current knowledge is big in amount and quality.

I'd just like to add one thing.. somewhat of an answer.

\Which is easier? To turn the existing superficial bloggers into professionals, or to convince professionals out there to start blogging?\

I believe both can make a huge difference..

Thank you both, I believe more could've been done by all of us since 2006. And yes we can work on that now.

Mr. Fouad is a very courageous man, his determination for freedom of speech helped me understand the oppresion of media. I totally agree that Saudis should move on. However Mr. Fouad, remember the law while enforcing your freedom of speech.

Saudis are governed by the Law of Saudi Arabia. Freedom of speech is all good and fine as long as it doesn't bring filthy ideologies. What is the objective and motives behind defaming a group of people. Blog all you want Mr. Fouad but remember to obey the law
