From my trawl of the Iraqi blogs it is not possible to say. Blogging provides thin slices into the day-to-day lives of Iraqis and I wish I had a blogger on my list that speaks more about the Christian community. The nearest thing is ChristianIraq.com but they have only been reprinting from the news agencies lately.

Speaking personally it is true that there is animosity towards Christians from some groups but I do not believe this has translated into outright genocide. The problem is that Iraq has become a lawless country and any idiot with an issue and a gun can start trouble. Christians are more vulnerable as they cannot call for protection from a militia.

The Christians community is being oppressed from two sides in Iraq. From the religious fundemetalists who are seeking to force their interpretation of Islam on the whole population. This prevent Christians from open worship or carrying out activities permitted in their religion. And from sectarian groups who see Christians as an obstacle to their own aims. I would go as far as saying this is from some Kurds who see Christians as an obstacle to a Kurdish Kirkuk.
