Zimbabwean Pundit guest writer, Eddie Cross asks whether African is going through a period similar to the European “Dark Ages”. However he states that despite the poverty and decay the continent is experiencing there are “islands of englightenment”. “You can find such places by visiting our private schools where dedicated teachers and administrators are maintaining a small but effective system of education that continues to produce outstanding athletes, sportsmen and women and fine academics. Above all they produce achievers - men and women who go out into the world and succeed wherever they go.
