I am interested in hearing what others think about the possible impact of the earthquake on Pakistani politics.

Is the loss of life in the affected areas sufficient to change the politcal climate?

Will there be a population shift?

Will there be any impact on tribal power/politics?

Is the whole region Pathan?

This discussion is not meant to discount the terrible tragedy, just to discuss the political impact.

Thanks, Dot

Wendy, what a kind and wonderful gesture. Actually your best bet would be to contact a relevant relief organization such as SAVE THE CHILDREN. You can find the links to STC and other relief agencies here:

http://www.networkforgood.org/topics/international/earthquake/southasia100805.aspx

Also, if you can afford to make a small monetary contribution and/or help in participating in a relief campaign. You may write to me to volunteer. I am involved with HELP-PAKISTAN.COM which is raising funds for the relief victims of the Pakistan Earthquake.
My email is: over_email@yahoo.com
Please check the link: http://www.help-pakistan.com

cheers.
