There is a good update on this topic at this American blog. Apparently Isaac Mao is making a lot of noise.

msn spaces is great, i love it. i use it, im Chinese, I live in China. if Microsoft is Finally starting to realize that they shouldnt follow any rules with regard to China and MSN spaces, then they are just starting to learn what the Chinese has been doing since Day 1-software piracy, counterfeits, health/SARS, etc, all shrouded under a little name that is literally in every faucet: "grey area."

I can't imagine something worse for the PR firm of Microsoft than being in cahoots with a regime that stifles any free thinking. If this issue is pressed hard enough in the U.S. I think Microsoft will be forced to change their policy.

Hey Martyn, Thanks for volunteering. Ideally it would be great for somebody to everything from the Klogs post on down, because I think they all present a point of view that English-speakers aren't familiar with.. but whatever you have time for, is great! 谢谢!!

NO FREE SPACE AT MSN IN COMMUNIST CHINA

If you want to get a view from another perspective, read Dare Obasanjo's post, MSN Spaces and China. Technorati tag: NoMSN. [Editor's note: For an explanation, read Rebecca MacKinnon's post, Chinese Bloggers on Censorship, MSN, Etc.]

Rebecca

Hello, The Peking Duck covered your story and said you needed translators.

What do you need translating? Only the blogchina groups mission of purpose and the above two links?

Let me know and I can crack on with it now.
